The robust and highly integrated design of the Polaris optical 3D metrology systems enables fast and accurate surface measurements in the production line and in harsh industrial environments. The used sensor technology makes Polaris well suited for all kinds of materials, including polished and tilted surfaces. The Polaris systems offer a variety of high precision 3D microscopy and sensor technologies, including ultra fast chromatic confocal line sensors. Its technology offers the advantage of a high measuring speed and at the same time eliminates fading at edges. It is a performant alternative to 3D laser scanning technologies, being able to measure surface roughness in the single nanometer domain.
The system platform includes an optional granite base with XY travel ranges up to 400 mm x 400 mm. It provides height measurement ranges up to 4mm, and height resolutions ranging from 1-350 nm. The Polaris offers several options for data acquisition and analysis software, including an easy-to-use recipe creation and management tool for repeat measurements and automation tasks.
